Back-to-Back Brilliance: Another Big Win for the Boys!
Having beaten Lymers 6-0 in our previous outing, the boys made it two big wins on the bounce when we beat West End Predators by 4 goals to 0 on Friday 25th April.
The game against Predators was one that we dominated from start to finish and one where we had to be at our best to score the goals that we did against opponents who worked hard all game and were resolute throughout!
Having gone close on a couple of occasions, we opened the scoring in the 14th minute when Jordan Deans used his wand of a left foot to find the net from 20 yards out to break the deadlock! What followed was numerous chances that came and went, and it looked like we would go into the break with only one goal to show for our efforts. However, on the stoke of half-time our talented midfield player Kemari Gumbs produced a fine solo effort to double our lead! Kemari picked up the ball wide on the left, beat his man and gave the goalkeeper no chance by shooting past him at the near post!
The second half began with Jordan Deans shooting over the bar for the first effort at goal of the half shortly before our goalkeeper Shemor Browne was called into action to produce an excellent save to prevent WEP pulling one goal back! Just one minute later, our captain Javis Jones made it 3-0 when his low and accurate shot from 20 yards found the bottom corner of the net. An excellent strike!
Good goalkeeping from the WEP custodian then denied us from increasing our lead until the 74th minute when Cardinae ‘Booker’ Rennie produced a superb turn and shot to score past his former club!
Booker’s goal ended the scoring for the night as we secured all three points which cements our place in 4th position in the league!
