We are very pleased to announce the signing of Rushane Brooks, a 20-year-old player from Antigua and Barbuda! An historic signing for our club because Rushane is the first player from Antigua and Barbuda to play for Uprising FC!
Hailing from Antigua and Barbuda, also raised in Jamaica, Rushane joins us having previously played for Ottos Rangers in the Antigua and Barbuda Premier League. This talented young player can play as an attacking midfielder or in a centre forward role. Upon the completion of his signing, we caught up with Rushane and firstly asked him what made him want to sign for our club:
“One of the main reasons why I signed, and to travel to this beautiful Island, to join this disciplined club is because of the professionalism carried throughout the club and the exposure that they offer to their players.”
We thank Rushane for his very kind words, we certainly do our very best to look after our players and give them the best opportunities that we possibly can!
As well as Rushane having previously played in the very competitive Antigua and Barbuda Premier League, he has also travelled to Germany in the past to have trials at several clubs. One of these club was VFB Solingen who play in the Landesliga which covers the 6th, 7th, and 8th tiers of football in the country! Rushane described the trials he had in Germany as a great experience which were all full of intensity and discipline, helping his knowledge of the game.
After enjoying talking about his experiences in Germany, we asked Rushane how he would describe himself as a player:
“I would describe myself as a humble, technical and disciplined player that can handle pressure both on and off the field of play.”
We look forward to seeing these qualities when Rushane pulls on an Uprising shirt! To finish our chat, we asked Rushane what he would like to achieve with Uprising FC:
“I want to win the AFL Championship with Uprising FC and enjoy the exposure that that would bring!”
Welcome to the club Rushane, we can’t wait to see you in action!
