Uprising FC Overpowers Spartans in Commanding Win

Goals from Jordan Deans and a brace from Jauron Gayle secured all three points for Uprising FC in a dominant 3-1 victory over Spartans FC.

In what was a blistering start from the boys, it was Jordan Deans who opened the scoring in the 5th minute with a cross come shot, following a corner from the right that sailed high into the top corner of the goal leaving the Spartans goalkeeper helpless!

After taking an early lead, we kept our foot on the gas and almost doubled our tally in the 9th minute when Jordan put Jauron Gayle clean through on goal, Jauron’s first time shot producing a good save from the goalkeeper. However, we were not to be denied and just 6 minutes later we went 2-0 up! This time it was Javis Jones with a through ball which found Jauron and, on this occasion, Jauron produced a fine finish, sliding the ball past the goalkeeper.

Despite our dominance, we were reminded that we were in a game when in the 23rd minute, Kule Kambere unleashed a powerful shot from 25 yards out that struck the crossbar! After this let off, we composed ourselves and got back to dominating possession of the ball and creating some good opportunities. The best of which coming in the 36th minute when a superb cross from the left from Vintage Tre Gumbs just evaded Jauron at the far post!

Close to half time, Spartans almost put a man clean through on goal but were denied by an excellent last-ditch tackle from Nathaniel Gumbs.

We started the second period in great style and almost made in 3-0 when Nathaniel found Jordan in space but unfortunately for us his left foot shot struck the top of the cross bar.

In truth, the second half was much quieter than the first and we had to wait until the 64th minute to extend our lead when Jaiden Fleming floated a ball over the top of the Spartans defence which found Jauron who’s first time shot whistled past the goalkeeper to put us 3 goals to the good!

To their credit, Spartans never gave up and grabbed a consolation goal in the 83rd minute when Alcuin Morancie’s low shot from the edge of the box gave Shemor Browne no chance of saving!

The remaining minutes of the game passed by without too much goalmouth action as we closed the night out with a fine victory!
