Dominant Second Half Secures 3-0 Victory Over Lymers FC in 2025 Season Opener
We opened our 2025 AFL campaign on Sunday the 18th of January with a superb 3-0 victory over Lymers FC at REGTC!
After a quiet first half where we had decent amounts of possession, but created no real chances of note, we burst into life in the second period scoring three unanswered goals!
The first goal of the night came in the 68th minute courtesy of a wonderful 20-yard free-kick from the wand of a left foot from Jordan Deans. It was 2-0 just six minutes later when good work on the left wing saw Denny Derrick finding Rene Thomas who in turn found Jauron Gayle unmarked in the Lymers box, The Anguillian Archer made no mistake, smashing the ball into the roof of the net to open his account for the season! Jauron then turned provider in the 80th minute when his short pass found Delani Francis on the edge of the box, Delani beat his man and fired home, low into the bottom righthand corner of the goal to give the Lymers custodian no chance!
We saw out the remaining ten minutes of the game comfortably to record an opening day victory! A great all round team performance and we now look forward to our next game which will be against East Enders FC on the 29th of January!
