MATCH REPORT | Uprising FC 1 -5 Docs United

The damage in this game was inflicted in the first half when our opponents went into a 3-0 lead. The opening stages of the game were quite even with half chances coming and going at either end, but that all changed in the 8th minute when Glenville Rogers rifled a shot high into the roof of the net leaving Keronni Vanterpoll little chance of saving.

Docs made it 2-0 through Sylvanus James on 16 minutes and then we began to get a bit of a foothold in the game creating some dangerous situations with good crosses from either flank into the Docs penalty area. Defari Francis was looking the most likely creator for us, producing some good work down the right wing.

Docs then increased their lead on 33 minutes, and we had Keronni Vanterpool to thank just moments later when he denied Sylvanus James from increasing our deficit.

We made a promising start to the second half, and in the opening seconds Tre Gumbs forced a save from Lawerence after shooting from 20 yards out. Alas, just two minutes later, Sylvanus James scored his second of the night to put the game out of our reach.
To our credit, we never gave up, sticking to the task and were rewarded with a goal in the 55th minute courtesy of a wonder striker from Jauron Gayle. You will go a long way to see too many better goals scored at any level of football!

Any hopes of an amazing comeback by the lads were diminished just four minutes after our goal, when Jose Tores restored the four-goal advantage for Docs.

Try as we might, we couldn’t get any more goals and despite Docs having Dondre Charles sent off in the 70th minute, our opponents went on to claim a 5-1 victory.
